Cold case murders are those defined that for one reason or another have not been solved. Cold case crimes are among the most difficult to solve for many reasons and the longer the case goes unsolved, the less likely they are to ever come to closure.
Despite increasing advances in scientific and forensic technology, it's not always the physical evidence that determines the resolution of a homicide. In most trials today, it’s also vitally important to tie the suspect to that physical evidence.
Never Solved The True Stories of America's Most Notorious Unsolved Murders is the 5th of John Summit's True Crime books and profiles 7 stories of the most notorious true crime mysteries in American history. These cases will leave you flabbergasted at the bungled police stories, leave you wondering how likely suspects were never prosecuted and leave you sympathizing with the families of the victims who never saw closure.

Never Solved The True Stories of America Most Notorious Unsolved Murders True Crime Series Book 5 eBook John Summit
If I'm counting correctly this is the fifth book in the series. There'sReleased to Kill Again: The Stories of 7 Criminals Convicted of Murder, Released and Murdered Again (True Crime Series)
Friends Who Kill Friends: The Stories of 7 Friends Convicted of Murder Over Jealousy, Love, Sex & Dares (True Crime Series)
Children Who Kill: The Stories of 7 Children Convicted of Killing Their Parents (True Crime Series) with the infamous Lizzie Borden
Doctors Who Kill: The Stories of 7 Doctors Convicted of Murder (True Crime Series)
And this one.
"Never Solved" has really driven home to me how heinous and torturous crimes can be committed right in the proximity of other people without arousing suspicion, like "Jack the Ripper" who pursued his violence in a heavily patrolled area and JeanBenet Ramsey, killed in her own home without waking anyone, or a little boy who disappears in minutes within two blocks of his home.
The sketches provide just enough reading for someone like me who becomes emotionally involved way too easily, but feels she should have a reasonable working knowledge of the world. Author John Summit offers just enough information to satisfy my curiosity about names and situations I've heard about and allows me to pursue cases more in depth if I am interested. Well done!

Never Solved The True Stories of America Most Notorious Unsolved Murders True Crime Series Book 5 eBook John Summit Reviews
Good Book
This book details several of the most famous unsolved murder cases from Jack the Ripper to JonBenet Ramsey, pointing out, not just the gruesome details, but police errors and omissions that contributed to their remaining unsolved. Hopefully, with today's modern forensic technologies, future crimes will more easily be solved. Even so, as the author explains, the chances of closure diminish significantly after the first 24 to 48 hours, and even modern scientific advances do not always ensure justice is served.
I am a sucker for unsolved cases and never missed an episode of Cold Case on TV. Loved the thought of being able to go back in time - sometimes decades - and work on an unsolved case. If you have the same taste in unsolved crimes, this book is for you. Starting with Jack the Ripper, the book chronicles chilling unsolved murders, among them Adam Walsh, JonBenet Ramsey and the Hall-Mills Murder. Each case includes background, details of the crime and suspects, as well as the aftermath.
For those of us who are ardent viewers of the CSI and cold case brand of television, this is one of those books you definitely want to add to your virtual crime library.
This book is interesting and it's hard to believe that these murders were never solved. It makes you wonder just how many murders go unsolved even today. Off course some of the murders took place before the FBI and other Organisations became more sophisticated with their techniques. Such as the Body Farm in America, profiling, computer analysis, and DNA testing.
While the majority of cases were familiar reading, the updates, where possible, made the reviews complete. Beyond the details of the original crime, the depiction of the frustrations encountered by law enforcement and family to essentially "know" who committed a crime but without evidence enough to convict (and therefore prosecute) is maddening.
This book really kept me interested throughout the entire book. I had always followed some of the stories inside, but never knew all the excellent details the author talked about. From Etan Patz, to Adam Walsh, and JonBenet Ramsey, I was extremely glued to the information I was reading. This was an excellent book and I highly recommend reading it! Thumbs up to John Summit!
This book examines some of the most interesting unsolved murders committed through the ages. There are seven tales in all from Jack the Ripper to the strange story of JonBenet Ramsey. The material has been thoroughly researched and is well presented.
Although I found the stories easy to read and entertaining, I have a rather weak stomach and found some of the descriptions a little too "real". However for lovers of crime, this would be a very good choice.
If I'm counting correctly this is the fifth book in the series. There's
Released to Kill Again The Stories of 7 Criminals Convicted of Murder, Released and Murdered Again (True Crime Series)
Friends Who Kill Friends The Stories of 7 Friends Convicted of Murder Over Jealousy, Love, Sex & Dares (True Crime Series)
Children Who Kill The Stories of 7 Children Convicted of Killing Their Parents (True Crime Series) with the infamous Lizzie Borden
Doctors Who Kill The Stories of 7 Doctors Convicted of Murder (True Crime Series)
And this one.
